Online coaching involves specific programming and monitoring of your performance, where you will be given feedback and progressions. Whereas, programming involves following and exercise plan with no monitoring or feedback. You can follow some free programming or you can get in touch for some specific training plans based on your goals.

ONLINE COACHING

Online Coaching

This involves coaching and programming. The first step of online coaching is to identify your needs and goals. We will then do a basic screening process to identify your strengths, weakness, muscle imbalances, posture assessment and movement patterns. Once we have all this information we will write you out a specific training program based on improving your needs and goals. Online coaching includes.

  • Initial video messaging consultation (screening and assessment).

  • A specific, progressive training program based on your needs and goals.

  • Healthy and active habit changing plan and strategies.

  • Healthy nutritional plan and strategies.

  • Regular catch up to discuss any changes or go over any of the exercises.

  • Performance review at the end of the program. So you can see your results!

PROGRAMING

The purpose of training is to get better at whatever our goal is. The process of physical training, simply comes down to progressively and consistently stressing the body enough to invoke physical adaptations to a specific environment or situation (our goal). With this in mind, a good training program comes down to getting the right balance between stressing the body and letting the body recover. There are three main factors that will have the biggest impact on the success of your training. These are consistency, progression and recovery.

  • Consistency - This is probably where most people go wrong when they start a new program. It is very important to maintain consistency with your training otherwise you will lose all the fitness gains that you have worked so hard to get. It’s like the old saying “if you don’t use it, you lose it.” Online coaching is a great way of getting consistency with your training and keeping you motivated.

  • Progression - Our bodies are very good at adapting to stress, however they are not good at adapting if the stress is too much too soon. This is way it is important for our training to be progressive so that it allows our bodies time to adapt to the additional stress placed on it. Online coaching will unsure that your training is stressing the body at the right level and that the intensity and volume of training is being progressive at the right level.

  • Recovery - When you are training the body is becoming weaker and when you are recovering the body is becoming stronger. If the body never fully recovers then it will never become stronger. This another classic thing that most people do the they first start a new training plan. They do too much, too soon and overtrain. Therefore becoming demotivated and quite quickly stop training. Online coaching will consider a number of different recovery strategies, to ensure that you recover more quickly, so that you can get back to training more quickly.



PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE

We use three different programming software, which will depend on your goal and what would best work for you.

Endurance goals

If your goals are more endurance specific then we use the Training Peaks software for online training. This is fantastic for monitoring and implementing training programs for endurance based activities.

Strength & Conditioning / Fitness goals

If your goal is more aimed towards general fitness or strength & conditioning we use the TrainHeroic software for you to get the best results. We also use Google sheets if that is easier.
